Location: Initial base in Mallow, Co. Cork, Ireland, with site-based and hybrid options depending on project phase
Job Type: Permanent / Full-time

Salary: Competitive + Comprehensive Benefits
Role Overview
Due to continued growth in our data centre utility and process-water treatment portfolio, we are seeking a Project Engineer with strong technical expertise in water treatment processes. Supporting our expanding MEICA engineering team, you will contribute to the design, installation, integration, and commissioning of critical process-water systems across hyperscale and enterprise data centres in Ireland and Europe. This varied role balances design coordination, site engineering, procurement, and handover support.
Key Responsibilities
Project Engineering & Delivery: Support all mechanical, electrical, and ICA aspects of process-water treatment projects. Interpret P&IDs, control narratives, and technical drawings to deliver solutions using modern technologies (RO, UF, ion exchange, dosing, and filtration).
System Integration: Oversee the installation, performance validation, and integration of systems such as Reverse Osmosis (RO), Ultrafiltration (UF), softening, demineralisation, chemical dosing, and high-purity polishing.
Data Centre Coordination: Work alongside M&E contractors, BMS/SCADA teams, and client representatives. Ensure systems integrate seamlessly with cooling towers, adiabatic coolers, chilled-water loops, and makeup water networks.
Commissioning & Handover: Support commissioning teams through FAT/SAT, functional testing, start-up, optimisation, and eventual client handover. Support training and handover processes for client operations teams.
Procurement & Scheduling: Coordinate procurement for pumps, skids, valves, instruments, and control systems while building project schedules that cover design through to handover.
Safety & Documentation: Prepare key project documentation-including RAMS, O&M manuals, commissioning schedules, and progress reports-in line with internal and client safety standards.
Stakeholder Management: Manage daily interactions with site labour, subcontractors, clients, and vendors. Lead site walkdowns, progress meetings, and technical reviews.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Technical Aptitude: Demonstrable experience in process-water treatment engineering, with strong knowledge of modern purification technologies and MEICA aspects.
Drawing Interpretation: Proven proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, design specifications, and functional control narratives.
Data Centre / Industrial Experience: Experience working in live or construction-stage data centre environments or mission-critical utilities is highly advantageous.
Commissioning & Site Skills: Practical site engineering experience, including involvement in FAT/SAT, system optimisation, and managing site labour and subcontractors.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder management, client walkdowns, and technical reporting.
