Job Description

Our client is looking for a motivated and proactive Project Engineer to support the delivery of their engineering projects across the water, wastewater, and environmental sectors. This role will suit someone with a strong technical background, an eye for detail, and experience coordinating engineering work from concept through to commissioning. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution * Plan, coordinate, and deliver projects to meet client expectations, budget, and schedule. * Assist in preparing project documentation, including schedules, resource plans, and progress reports. * Support the technical delivery of detailed design and engineering outputs in coordination with designers and specialists. * Manage project risks and contribute to change management processes. Site Coordination & Compliance * Conduct site inspections, liaise with contractors, and ensure installation and commissioning activities meet Afeco and client standards. * Produce and review site-specific documentation such as risk assessments, method statements, and testing protocols. * Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) requirements at all stages. Stakeholder Engagement * Build positive working relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders. * Act as a point of contact for clients and attend regular meetings and site visits. * Provide technical input during design, procurement, and construction phases. Procurement & Documentation * Assist with procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontract services. * Maintain project records, including test results, commissioning sheets, asset documentation, and photographic evidence. * Ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on time. Required Qualifications & Experience Essential: * Degree/HND or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering * 2–5 years’ experience in engineering project delivery * Sound understanding of engineering drawings and project documentation * Knowledge of water treatment or process-related industries * Valid UK driving licence * Strong communication and organisational skills Desirable: * CSCS card, SMSTS/SSSTS, or other site safety certifications * Experience with NEC contracts and project change management * Confined Space, EUSR, or similar site-based training * Knowledge of sustainability frameworks or carbon reduction strategies What's on Offer * Competitive salary (based on experience) * Pension contribution and annual leave package * Support for professional development and chartership * Opportunity to be part of a purpose-driven and growing company
