Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on and detail-driven Project Engineer with expertise in Electrical Controls or Design to join an expanding engineering team who have just moved into their brand facility in Colchester.
You will play a key role in the, development, and delivery of electrical control systems for a wide range of industrial automation nand Data Cnetre projects.
Whether it’s specifying hardware,or software controls, you’ll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring solutions are technically sound, on time, and exceed client expectations.
Job Responsibilities:
* Design and develop electrical control systems, including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and control schematics
* Support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, software, and installation teams
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications
* Maintain accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Experience:
* Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Controls Engineer within industrial automation, manufacturing, or similar environments
* Strong working knowledge of PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi) and HMI/SCADA systems
* Experience with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
* Solid understanding of industrial control systems, electrical panels, and safety standards
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related fieldBefore You Apply
