About the Role
As a Project Engineer, you’ll assist in managing multiple mechanical and electrical (M&E) installation and fabrication projects in parallel — ranging from £5,000 to £3 million. You’ll be involved from client order through to final handover, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget, and with zero accidents. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where collaboration, technical insight, and proactive problem-solving are key.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Supporting Project Managers across all phases of delivery
• Liaising with Water Company clients and suppliers to scope and execute works
• Assisting with tender preparation, site visits, and installation oversight
• Managing resources, materials, and purchasing (up to £15,000)
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety, environmental, and IMS standards
• Preparing method statements, risk assessments, and site documentation
• Coordinating with internal teams for off-site manufacture and installation
• Handling up to 10 projects in parallel, depending on scope
What You’ll Bring
• Experience in engineering or project management support roles
• Preferably practical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes
• Familiarity with construction methods and equipment in the sector
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
• Valid CSCS card, SSSTS certification (preferred), and full UK driving licence
• Preferably a background in mechanical engineering
Why FLI Water?
• Be part of a specialist team within the FLI Group, delivering impactful infrastructure
• Work on diverse, high-value projects that improve communities and the environment
• Enjoy a collaborative culture with opportunities for growth and development
