Interim PMO Manager – Housing Improvement South East | Local Authority | 3-month assignment £300 – 400 per day We’re supporting a Local Authority in the South East to appoint an Interim PMO Manager to provide strategic coordination and governance oversight across a major Housing Improvement Programme. This role is central to driving transformation across Housing Services, ensuring robust governance, clear reporting, and effective risk and performance management across multiple programme workstreams. The role The Interim PMO Manager will: · Lead and maintain programme governance frameworks and reporting standards · Coordinate activity across workstreams, ensuring alignment of priorities and milestones · Oversee the programme risk register and performance monitoring · Provide assurance to senior leadership on delivery confidence and risk exposure · Prepare dashboards, highlight reports and governance papers · Support regulatory compliance and external assurance activity · Line-manage a Project Support Officer and help strengthen PMO capability across the service What you’ll bring: · Strong PMO leadership experience within complex public-sector or regulated environments · Expertise in programme governance, risk management and structured reporting · Ability to influence and challenge delivery leads constructively · Excellent analytical and communication skills · PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent programme/project management qualification This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PMO professional to play a pivotal role in a high-profile improvement programme with real impact for residents.
