Project Manager – Energy Sector Job Description Due to increased opportunities and demand in the Energy & Natural Resources sector, our client is seeking Project Managers to join a diverse and supportive team during a period of significant growth. Main Purpose of the Role * To lead project management commissions, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, often across large or complex projects. * To support major project commissions by managing specific areas of service delivery. * To ensure that client objectives are achieved and that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Scope Project Managers will oversee commissions of varying scale and complexity. Depending on the nature of the project, this may involve significant value and advisory input. Candidates should be confident managing small to medium-complexity projects independently, with minimal supervision, while having access to the wider expertise available within our client's team. Key Accountabilities Project Management: * Provide strategic input at the inception stage, advising on various approaches to achieve the client's objectives. * Define and manage project requirements. * Establish and maintain success criteria including time, cost, technical, and performance goals. * Set up effective governance, systems, and processes for the duration of the project. * Develop and maintain schedules and master project plans. * Manage the development of projects in line with approved plans and targets. * Develop and implement resource plans and handle procurement processes. * Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams. * Apply performance management techniques, including KPIs, to drive continuous improvement. * Manage the change control process effectively. * Establish and track budgets, monitoring forecasts and actual costs. * Ensure effective communication and flow of information between the project team and client. * Identify risks, plan mitigation strategies, and monitor implementation. * Prepare and deliver formal project progress and performance reports. * Act as the main point of contact for the client, other consultants, and stakeholders at all stages of the project. * Advise the client on Health & Safety and Environmental matters. * Oversee the ongoing management of quality, safety, health, and environmental issues. Internal Management: * Where applicable, contribute to staff supervision, resource planning, and performance reviews for junior team members. * Support knowledge sharing by capturing and recording lessons learned from each project. * Proactively identify and contribute to process improvements across internal systems. Qualifications & Experience * Degree qualified in a relevant discipline. * Working towards a professional qualification (e.g., MCIOB, APM, or equivalent). * Demonstrable experience managing infrastructure, technology, or energy-related projects, ideally within a consultancy or client-side environment. * Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously. * Eligible to obtain BPSS-level security clearance
