Project Manager - Civil Engineering
Glasgow, Scotland (with travel to sites when needed)
Permanent | Full Time (45 hours per week)
£65,000 - 75,000 per annum plus package and benefits
Responsibilities:
- Lead tender handover and pre-start activities, ensuring clear understanding of scope, risks and programme
- Manage site mobilisation, logistics, welfare and traffic management arrangements
- Establish and maintain project controls, reporting systems and documentation processes
- Oversee short-term planning, coordinate interfaces and implement recovery strategies where needed
- Chair progress meetings with internal teams and clients, ensuring accurate reporting and updates
- Monitor costs, manage resources and reconcile expenditure against forecasts
- Maintain and manage risk registers, ensuring mitigation measures are tracked and delivered
- Ensure compliance with specifications, drawings and quality standards
- Collaborate with technical and design teams to resolve engineering challenges
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Project Manager role within civil engineering or similar
- Strong commercial awareness with solid understanding of cost and value management
- Skilled in programme planning and coordination
- Confident leader with the ability to drive performance and resolve issues proactively
- Background in Civil Engineering with knowledge of temporary works
- Experience preparing and reviewing RAMS and permits
- SMSTS qualified
- Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline
