Day rate: £300 - £320 depending on experience

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a major Design & Build project involving the construction of a multi-storey steel frame car park.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing the project from pre-construction through to turnkey completion, ensuring delivery is safe, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Take full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and delivery of the project from inception to turnkey handover.
Develop, maintain, and manage the master project programme, ensuring key milestones are achieved.
Lead and coordinate the design process, managing consultants and ensuring design information is issued in line with the construction programme.
Manage all phases of construction, including:
Groundworks and foundations
Steel frame erection
External envelope and associated works
Internal fit-out
Testing, commissioning, and final handover
Oversee the commercial aspects of the project alongside the commercial team, including procurement, cost control, change management, and risk management.
Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
Chair design, progress, and coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Monitor quality, health and safety, programme performance, and project risks.
Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and company procedures.
Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and proactive project management.
Produce regular progress reports for senior management and the client.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience delivering Design & Build construction projects as a Project Manager.
Demonstrable experience managing steel frame construction projects, ideally including multi-storey car parks, industrial, commercial, or similar structures.
Strong knowledge of groundworks, structural steel, building envelope, fit-out, and commissioning.
Experience producing and managing detailed construction programmes using Microsoft Project, Asta Powerproject, or Primavera P6.
Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Strong commercial awareness with experience working alongside quantity surveyors and commercial managers.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining programme, quality, and budget objectives.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong decision-making abilities.
Qualifications
Essential:
SMSTS.
CSCS Black or White Card.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Membership of CIOB, RICS, ICE, or equivalent professional body.
Temporary Works Coordinator or Appointed Person training.
First Aid at Work qualification.
