Project Manager – Infrastructure

Overview:
A leading engineering and property consultancy is seeking a Project Manager to join their Infrastructure team based in Manchester. The successful candidate will support the delivery of key projects across the transport and infrastructure sectors. This role is ideal for someone with a minimum of 3–5 years’ experience looking to take the next step in their career within a dynamic and supportive consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading or supporting the delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to budget
Managing the full project lifecycle including planning, procurement, risk management, delivery, and handover
Administering and managing contracts, with a particular focus on NEC forms of contract (Essential)
Engaging and liaising with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
Preparing project documentation including programmes, risk registers, cost reports, and status updates
Supporting the preparation and submission of project bids and proposals
Contributing to team and business development through knowledge sharing and relationship buildingRequirements:
3–5 years’ experience in project management within infrastructure sectors such as rail, highways, utilities, or civil engineering
Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts is essential
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills
A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
Progression toward or possession of professional qualifications (e.g. MAPM, RICS, ICE) is advantageousBackgrounds Considered:
Engineering consultancy / client-side PM
Tier 1 contractor with demonstrable experience in project delivery
Sector experience in rail is advantageous but not essential
