Overview
We are working in partnership with a major construction contractor to appoint a Project Manager to deliver a high-profile, 18-storey, 200+ unit residential development in the heart of Leeds valued over £45 million. The scheme forms a key component of a wider £1 billion urban regeneration programme, which stands to be the largest property transaction in Yorkshire's history.
This is a standout opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead a complex, high-rise build from the early phases of delivery through to completion. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the construction of a development that will redefine the Leeds skyline and city centre living.
The Role:
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, timely, and budget-conscious delivery of the build. This includes oversight of on-site construction activity, programme management, coordination with internal departments, and external stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full build programme from inception to completion
Lead and coordinate the site-based delivery team, including sector and finishing managers
Oversee site logistics, sequencing, and health & safety planning in a constrained urban setting
Interface daily with the supply chain and ensure subcontractor performance
Collaborate closely with the Project Director, Commercial Manager, Design Manager, and Technical teams
Provide regular progress reports, risk assessments, and programme updates to senior stakeholders
Uphold quality, safety, and sustainability standards at all times
Required Experience & Background
We are seeking a construction professional with a strong background in delivering large-scale, high-rise residential or commercial schemes for Tier 1 or leading Tier 2 contractors.
Essential Criteria:
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Project Manager on complex, high-rise schemes
Proven track record delivering projects over £30 million in value
Background working for a Tier 1 main contractor, or a well-established Tier 2 contractor with major project exposure
Demonstrable experience managing logistics and construction in tight, live urban environments
Proficient in managing multiple site teams, subcontractors, and interfacing departments
Excellent knowledge of construction programming, sequencing, and risk management
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
Commercially and contractually awareQualifications:
Degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Platinum), First Aid at Work
Temporary Works Coordinator or Appointed Person (preferred)
