Are you a results-driven Project Manager with a passion for delivering challenging civil engineering projects in the water and heavy civils sector? Do you have the leadership skills to guide multi-disciplinary teams and the technical insight to manage complex infrastructure builds?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Project Manager to join a growing civil engineering business with a strong presence across the East of England. This role will see you lead major waterways and heavy civil engineering projects, with a focus on quality, safety, and sustainability.
This is a permanent, full-time role based across the Cambridge and Peterborough corridor, so local knowledge and proximity are essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the successful delivery of complex civil engineering projects in the water and heavy civils space, from inception to handover.
*
Oversee on-site operations, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with health & safety regulations.
*
Coordinate internal resources and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and high-performing site team.
*
Maintain strong communication with stakeholders including designers, suppliers, and the commercial team.
*
Proactively manage project risks, change management, quality assurance, and financial reporting.
*
Champion a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility on site.
What We’re Looking For:
*
Proven experience as a Project Manager in the civil engineering sector, ideally with a focus on water infrastructure, heavy civils, or environmental/waterways works.
*
Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts (NEC preferred), and project controls.
*
Exceptional leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
*
Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and programme targets.
*
Relevant industry qualifications – ideally HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
*
Full UK driving licence – travel to multiple local sites will be required.
