They are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong NEC contract knowledge to lead and manage their pre-construction and design team on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage projects in the pre-construction / design phase, ensuring deliverables are aligned with contract requirements and client expectations.
* Act as Project Manager under NEC contracts, ensuring compliance with contract provisions, early warning processes, programme management, and change control.
* Coordinate internal and external design teams, consultants, and subcontractors to deliver technical solutions.
* Manage and monitor project programmes, cost forecasts, and risk registers, ensuring accurate reporting to the client and senior management.
* Oversee design development, reviews, and approvals in line with project scope, standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Establish and maintain effective stakeholder engagement with clients, designers, and supply chain partners.
* Proactively manage project risks, opportunities, and interfaces between design disciplines.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards during the design phase.
* Lead project meetings, workshops, and progress reviews, capturing actions and ensuring follow-through.
* Prepare and support the transition of projects from design to construction, ensuring handover documentation is complete and robust.
Skills & Qualifications required
* Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering projects under NEC contracts (ECC / PSC preferred).
* Strong knowledge of pre-construction and design management processes.
* Track record of managing design teams, consultants, and stakeholders on complex infrastructure or construction projects.
* Excellent understanding of NEC contract administration, including early warnings, risk management, compensation events, and programme management.
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and change.
* Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Proficiency in project planning and reporting tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar).
* Professional qualification (APM, RICS, ICE, CIOB or equivalent) desirable.
* Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred.
