Job Description

UK-wide projects (home-based with travel as required) We’re representing a national infrastructure group delivering complex power transmission projects across the UK. Their work spans high-voltage substations, overhead line renewals, renewable energy connections and EV infrastructure, supporting the transition to a smarter, cleaner energy network. They are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a portfolio of electrical substation projects, with upcoming works scheduled across South Wales and the wider UK. This is a key delivery role, overseeing M&E packages from project award through to completion, ensuring all work is delivered safely, efficiently and to exacting standards. The Role As Project Manager, you’ll take responsibility for delivering multiple substation projects within an established national framework. Working with in-house engineers, commercial teams, suppliers and National Grid representatives, you’ll ensure all programme, cost, safety and contractual targets are achieved. You’ll provide leadership across the full lifecycle, planning, procurement, delivery, testing and handover, while actively managing risk, change and stakeholder relationships. You’ll also play a role in supporting bid activity and future work-winning through technical input and lessons learned. Key responsibilities include: Managing Design & Build substation projects, typically up to 400kV Leading multi-disciplinary teams and supply chain partners Ensuring compliance with NG SRs, Rules, EPC/M&E frameworks and NEC contracts Driving safety performance (HSWA, CDM, EAWR) and high-quality site delivery Managing programme, budget, change control and reporting Identifying and managing risks and opportunities Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholder groupsAbout You Experience delivering National Grid substation projects Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract Qualified in construction/engineering and/or project management (APM, PMP etc.) Proven leadership across complex, multi-disciplinary teams Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills Experienced in cost control, planning and project reporting Competent user of project management software and digital toolsWhy This Role?
