Job Description

A growing, independent construction consultancy based in Cambridge is seeking a confident Project Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team. This consultancy delivers a diverse range of education, residential and commercial schemes across the region, offering a close-knit and collaborative working environment. The Project Quantity Surveyor Role The successful Project Quantity Surveyor will take a leading role across a varied portfolio, delivering both pre- and post-contract services. The Project Quantity Surveyor will manage schemes from early feasibility through to completion, ensuring effective cost control and commercial delivery. The Project Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for cost planning, procurement and contract administration, working closely with clients and project teams. The Project Quantity Surveyor will oversee valuations, variations and reporting, maintaining financial oversight throughout. Working alongside contractors, consultants and stakeholders, the Project Quantity Surveyor will play a key part in ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. This Project Quantity Surveyor role offers genuine responsibility, client exposure, and a clear pathway towards Senior level. Overall, this Project Quantity Surveyor position is ideal for someone looking to step into a more autonomous role within a supportive and growing consultancy. Project Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities * Prepare detailed cost plans, budgets and feasibility estimates * Manage tender processes, including documentation and analysis * Undertake cost reporting, valuations and agreement of final accounts * Administer contracts, primarily JCT forms * Monitor project expenditure and manage variations * Provide commercial advice to clients * Liaise with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery Project Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements * 3-6 years' experience as a Project Quantity Surveyor within consultancy or main contractor * Experience delivering residential, education or commercial projects * Strong understanding of pre- and post-contract duties * Experience administering JCT contracts * RICS accredited degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management * MRICS or working towards chartership * Strong commercial awareness and communication skills In Return * Salary of £50,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience) * 25 days annual leave + bank holidays * Pension contribution * Hybrid/flexible working * APC support and ongoing CPD * Clear career progression within a supportive team If you are a Project Quantity Surveyor considering your career opportunities, please get in touch.
