Job Description

Project Scheduler Location: Plymouth Salary: £40,000–£45,000 Hours: 37.5hours - Mon-Fri Are you an expert in project planning and scheduling, seeking a new opportunity within a dynamic engineering environment? We’re searching for an experienced Project Scheduler to join our fast-paced Programmes team in Plymouth. Reporting to the Programme Director, you’ll play a vital role in building, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules for multiple complex initiatives. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Project and Programme Managers to define tasks, timelines and resource requirements Create detailed schedules and work breakdown structures in Microsoft Project Develop plans for bid phases and support schedule re-baselining during project delivery Monitor project performance against key milestones, metrics and budgets, regularly updating schedules Work with a range of stakeholders to co-ordinate and manage resource allocation across the business Identify risks, opportunities, assumptions and dependencies, supporting risk mitigation and forecasting Ensure all project schedules are aligned to scope and objectives Skills and Experience Essential: Advanced knowledge of project planning, scheduling and management methodologies Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Project At least 2–3 years’ experience scheduling across multiple, concurrent engineering projects Strong background in resource management, budgeting and control Technical experience, ideally within engineering design and development Desirable: Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent) Security Clearance Requirements: Due to the nature of our business, our staff need to be able to obtain UK Security Clearance as a mandated requirement. Therefore, if successful, you will need to provide proof of identity, employment history and right to work in the UK, along with proof of UK residency for at least five years.
