Job Description

We’re working with a well-established and growing business in Newport who are looking to add a Projects Support Officer to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong technical background in construction, lifting operations or engineering support who enjoys being organised, detail-focused, and involved in real project delivery. You’ll play a key role in supporting project planning, producing technical documentation, and ensuring works are carried out safely and efficiently. If you like variety, responsibility, and being part of a hands-on team — this role offers exactly that.

Key Responsibilities:

  * Maintain and update the project management system

  * Produce RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) and LORAMS

  * Plan lifting operations and develop safe systems of work

  * Coordinate plant and equipment hire (including cranes)

  * Create technical drawings and layouts using AutoCAD (2D)

  * Support lift planning, including simulations and calculations

  * Assist with temporary works design and documentation

  * Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and relevant legislation

  * Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers

  * Occasionally attend site visits across the UK

Key Requirements:

  * Experience within construction, demolition, or engineering environments

  * Working knowledge of lifting operations and crane activities

  * Competent in AutoCAD (2D)

  * Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office

  * Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

  * Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  * Full UK driving licence

  * Willingness to travel for occasional site visits

Hours of Work:

  * Monday to Thursday: 9:00am – 5:00pm

  * Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

Salary:
£29,000 – £34,000 per annum (depending on experience)
