This role of project surveyor (building & fabric bias) is based in Oxfordshire for a great organisation.
Responsibilites

Provide Technical Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert and deputy for senior managers across Engineering Projects, Compliance, and Building Maintenance.

Deliver Compliance & Maintenance Programmes: Oversee statutory inspection, asbestos management, and reactive maintenance to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
*
Manage Projects: Lead end-to-end delivery of Fabric and Compliance projects, including design, procurement, budgeting, implementation, and post-handover evaluation.
*
Advise on Capital Projects: Review and critique Fabric and Compliance designs for new builds and refurbishments, ensuring alignment with organisational standards and value for money.
*
Lead and Support Teams: Line manage Project Inspectors, graduates, and other staff, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and coordination of workload.
*
Oversee Budgets: Support the management of the Fabric and Compliance repairs and maintenance budget (~£4 million), ensuring cost-effective planning and delivery.
*
Ensure Health & Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce Health & Safety policies related to fabric installations and statutory obligations.
*
Produce Reports and Technical Documentation: Create feasibility studies, technical reports, and maintain accurate records (O&Ms, testing data, drawings).
*
Engage Stakeholders: Provide expert advice to Estates Services teams, organisation administrators, and external consultants and contractors.
*
Contribute to Policy and Standards: Update and maintain Fabric and Compliance sections of the organisation’s Design Guides and influence best practices.
Requirements
* A degree/HNC or equivalent in construction, building surveying, health & safety, or a related field.
* Ideally working towards chartered status (e.g., CIOB, RICS), working towards chartered status, or significant experience.
* Experience delivering fabric and compliance projects, particularly in fire safety, asbestos, fabric repair, or statutory compliance.
* Strong project and financial management skills, including procurement and budget control.
