Job Description

Service Care Legal are currently working alongside a local authority in the Surrey area who are seeking a Property Lawyer to join them on a contract basis. Please find below further details about this role.   ROLE:                  Property Lawyer LOCATION:         Surrey Rate:                     £45–£50ph umbrella / £44.11ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £39.36ph PAYE exc. holiday pay CONTRACT:        3 months with possibility of extension, 36 hours per week   Key Responsibilities Negotiating and drafting landlord and tenant transactions including leases, licences, and assignments. Drafting and advising on wayleaves, easements, and third-party consents. Managing freehold acquisitions and disposals of land and buildings. Providing legal and transactional support on property-related schools work and academy conversions. Advising on trusts related to deferred payment agreements. Undertaking title investigations and due diligence, including reports on title and first registrations. Delivering a range of advisory work, from reviewing covenants, boundary disputes, and adverse possession matters to interpreting leases, agreements, and relevant legislation or guidance. About You Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) with a strong background in property law. Previous experience in local government or public sector property work is highly desirable. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client-handling skills. Able to manage a busy and varied caseload with minimal supervision.
