Job Description

Service Care Legal are supporting a high-profile Central London local authority to recruit an experienced Property Lawyer for a contract role within their legal services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a wide range of complex property transactions that make a real impact in the public sector. You’ll be part of a legal team supporting key estates, housing, and regeneration initiatives – delivering trusted advice and managing critical property matters.   ROLE:                  Property Lawyer (Public Sector) – Hybrid Working (2 Days Onsite) LOCATION:         Central London Hybrid – 2 days/week in-office (Central London) CONTRACT:        3 months ongoing, 36 hours per week RATE:                   £45 per hour umbrella / £40.10ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £35.78ph PAYE exc. holiday pay   Please note that this role would require office attendance 2 days per week.   Key Responsibilities: Deliver clear, commercially aware legal advice on property law matters Draft and negotiate legal documents: leases, licences, deeds of variation, reports on title Lead or support on acquisitions, disposals, and asset transfers Handle SDLT returns and conduct property due diligence Advise on decision-making reports for senior officers and committees  The Person Qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Fellow (England & Wales) Solid understanding of property law – ideally within a local authority or public sector context Strong drafting, advisory, and stakeholder management skills Ability to manage a varied and busy caseload with minimal supervision If this sounds like an opportunity of interest, please contact Lloyd Stanley on (phone number removed), or email (url removed).
