On behalf of our retained client, a well-established company in fire protection and life safety solutions, with ambitious growth plans over the next few years – we are seeking a senior level Proposals/Tendering/Estimating leader to drive growth, elevate client relationships, and lead high-value tenders across cutting-edge markets, including Data Centres.
The Role:
As Proposals Director /Head of Proposals, you’ll take charge of the company’s commercial expansion, managing key bids, leading the internal sales team, and engaging strategically with clients to shape the future of fire safety. You’ll collaborate closely with directors, estimators, and design teams to ensure proposals are robust, technically sound, and commercially compelling.
This role is pivotal in aligning technical innovation with market opportunity – an ideal fit for a commercially astute professional with deep roots in fire protection.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive growth through strategic client engagement and pipeline development
* Lead tender strategy and submissions, particularly in the mission-critical Data Centre sector
* Oversee technical scope including advanced fire detection, suppression, and life safety systems
* Mentor the direct sales team and contribute to marketing and brand visibility
* Ensure excellence in handovers, budget accuracy, and compliance
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven success in business development and proposals within fire protection.
* Deep understanding of fire detection systems, ideally with Data Centre exposure
* Confident communicator with exceptional client-facing and negotiation skills
* Experienced leader with a track record of mentoring high-performing teams
* Strong commercial acumen and proficiency in tender documentation & forecasting
Preferred Qualifications:
* Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related
* Relevant certifications (e.g., FIA, LPCB)
* CRM proficiency and national mobility (UK driving licence required)
