Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Proposals Engineer to join a globally focused organisation. This role is central to supporting international sales activity by producing high‑quality, technically robust and commercially competitive proposals across a diverse product portfolio.

Working at the intersection of sales, engineering and supply chain, you will analyse client requirements, define project scopes and develop accurate cost models to ensure proposals are both deliverable and profitable.

Key Responsibilities

  * Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals in response to RFQs

  * Analyse customer specifications, requirements and contractual documentation

  * Develop accurate cost estimates aligned with margin, risk and delivery expectations

  * Define clear scopes of work, including assumptions, exclusions and identified risks

  * Collaborate with engineering teams to develop compliant technical solutions

  * Liaise with supply chain and suppliers to obtain pricing, lead times and technical input

  * Support the full bid lifecycle from initial enquiry through to project handover

  * Contribute to proposal strategy, value propositions and marketing initiatives

  * Maintain and improve proposal tools, templates and cost models

  * Capture lessons learned to support continuous improvement

Key Accountabilities

  * Deliver high‑quality, compliant and competitive proposals

  * Provide timely and effective support to the global sales team

  * Ensure proposals are commercially viable and technically sound

  * Support smooth transition from bid phase to project execution

  * Drive improvements in proposal processes and methodologies

About You

  * Proven experience in proposals engineering, estimating or bid development

  * Strong commercial awareness with the ability to build accurate cost models

  * Ability to interpret technical specifications and develop practical solutions

  * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  * Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines

  * Experience working cross‑functionally with engineering, sales and supply chain teams

Requirements

  * 2D and 3D Drawing skills

  * working on Capital equipment / heavy manufacturing / Recycling
