Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
About the Prototype Fitter RoleWe’re looking for a skilled Prototype Fitter to join our manufacturing team. You’ll be responsible for assembling mechanical machines and components using a variety of hand, electric, and air-driven tools. This is a hands-on role requiring precision, teamwork, and a strong understanding of engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities of the Prototype Fitter
Assemble machines and subassemblies to specification
Interpret and work from engineering drawings
Align and position components manually or using hoists
Conduct quality checks and complete documentation
Collaborate with design engineers to resolve build issues
Support other departments when needed
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Be available for occasional evening/weekend workWhat We’re Looking For in a Prototype Fitter
Proven experience in mechanical assembly
Basic fabrication skills (drilling, grinding, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Strong communication and teamwork skills
