PSV/HGV Vehicle Engineer – Coach & Fleet Maintenance
Location: Weston-super-Mare, Somerset
Salary: Up to £45,000 per year + Overtime (DOE)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established transport operator who are seeking an experienced PSV/HGV Vehicle Engineer to join their fleet maintenance team in Weston-super-Mare. The Role
As a Vehicle Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a fleet of coaches and heavy vehicles. Working as part of a supportive engineering team, you’ll ensure all vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and fully compliant with O Licence and safety standards. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in PSV, HGV, or light vehicle maintenance, who is now looking to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine safety inspections and repairs to a high standard.

Diagnose faults and complete repairs using diagnostic tools and manual methods.
*
Maintain accurate records and job cards through the fleet management system.
*
Communicate effectively with operations teams to resolve maintenance issues quickly.
*
Support stock control and parts management.
*
Ensure workshop standards remain clean, safe, and compliant.
Requirements
*
Proven experience in PSV, HGV, or vehicle maintenance (essential).
*
Full UK Driving Licence.
*
Willingness to obtain a Category D (Coach) Licence (training support provided).
*
Strong teamwork, organisational and communication skills.
*
A commitment to Health & Safety and attention to detail.
