Speciality Psychiatry Doctor Eating Disorder Unit NO ON CALLS
Pay: £80,000, 37.5hrs/week, NO ON-CALLS
Essential requirements:
* Hold GMC registration with a full license to practice
* Experience of working in Psychiatry speciality
The role:
* 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday
* The ward sees patients presenting with severe eating difficulties and have co-morbidity including addiction, depression, anxiety, personality disorder
* Working independently and as a part of a large team of substantive medical staff with each ward led by a Consultant Psychiatrist supported by their Speciality Doctor and other MDT members
* Provide evidence-based assessment and treatment under direct supervision and support from the consultant
* Support the GP in delivering physical health care and emergency treatments in complex care
* Arrange appropriate clinical tests and investigation including taking responsibility to chase up results and act on them in a timely manner
* Ensure physical observation by ward staff are carried out appropriately, review and act upon them in an appropriate manner
* Prepare discharge summaries, reports and other associated documentation as necessary
* Participate in Clinical Governance activities
* Responsible for inducting new Medical Practitioners and providing cover for them when they are on compensatory rest periods
* Share responsibility for taking bloods with site phlebotomists and Medical Practitioners
* Account for contracted hours utilised in research/ CPD/ other non-clinical duties
· Report to your supervising consultant and have formal supervisions regularly
