Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm - term-time only.
Location: Meldreth, Hertfordshire
Pay: £100-£115 per day.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Psychology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Meldreth. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience supporting pupils with autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, learning disabilities and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists and SEN professionals, you will play a vital role in helping students develop academically, socially and emotionally within a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs.
Assist teachers in delivering engaging, personalised learning activities.
Promote positive behaviour using patient, consistent and therapeutic approaches.
Support pupils' communication, emotional regulation and social development.
Encourage independence, confidence and participation both inside and outside the classroom.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents and other professionals to support individual learning plans.
Contribute to maintaining a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
About You
A degree in Psychology or a related subject.
A genuine interest in child development, neurodiversity and inclusive education.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patient, empathetic and resilient with a positive, proactive attitude.
Able to build positive relationships with children, colleagues and families.
An interest in pursuing a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Teaching or another SEN-related profession is advantageous but not essential.
