Job Description

Psychology Graduate – SEND Support Role Location: In Person, Bedlington Area Pay: £101.40 –£105.00 per day Contract Type: Full-time, Part-time, or Flexible Kickstart your career in education with Milk Education Are you a recent Psychology graduate (2023 or later) eager to gain hands-on experience working with children? This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your journey in education, supporting students with Autism and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a dynamic and inclusive school environment. You’ll work directly with children, providing one-to-one and small-group support to help them engage in learning and personal growth within a structured, nurturing setting. This role offers valuable experience for anyone considering careers in educational psychology, teaching, social work, or other child-focused professions. Key Responsibilities * Provide tailored support to students with Autism, learning difficulties, and other SEND. * Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. * Encourage students’ emotional, social, and academic development through positive, engaging activities. * Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to promote inclusion and wellbeing. * Support students with personal care needs (training provided if required). * Observe and record student progress, sharing updates with staff and parents. * Help create a supportive, respectful classroom environment. Requirements * A degree in Psychology or a related subject (graduates from 2023 onwards encouraged to apply). * Any previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential. * A genuine passion for supporting children with additional learning needs. * Strong communication and teamwork skills. * Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude. * A current enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
