Job Description

Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant   Want school-based experience that links directly to Educational Psychology or teacher training? Use your psychology background to remove barriers to learning for KS2 pupils.   *** Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant *** Immediate start until July 2026 *** £81 - £101 per day *** ‘Good’ primary school, Ladywood *** 1:1 and small group SEN support across KS2   What you’ll do: Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for KS2 pupils with additional needs. Break tasks into clear steps, use visual aids and routines, and coach regulation and social-communication skills. You’ll pre-teach key content, run short catch-up sessions in literacy and numeracy, and log quick progress notes to inform next steps with the class teacher and SENCo.   Who you are: A psychology (or related) graduate who communicates crisply and stays calm under pressure. You can follow support plans, build trust quickly, and keep sessions purposeful without overloading the pupil.   Requirements Degree – 2:2 or above in any subject. Communication – Strong verbal and written skills. Enhanced DBS – Held already or willing to obtain. Desire to work in education/with children – Clear interest in SEN, child development, and pupil wellbeing. Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (SEN support, mentoring, tutoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.  The School: A ‘Good’ primary in Ladywood with a supportive SEN culture, consistent routines, and practical coaching.
