Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Barnet - ASAP Start
Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain practical experience working with children and young people before pursuing a career as an Educational Psychologist?
Would you like to make a real difference in a supportive and inclusive secondary school environment?
Tradewind Recruitment are working with a fantastic secondary school in Barnet seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. This is a full-time, long-term position (Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm), ideal for graduates passionate about child development, mental health, and special educational needs (SEN).
Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Role Overview
Support students with additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
Work closely with the SENCO, Educational Psychologist, and Pastoral Team to deliver tailored support.
Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to improve learning outcomes and emotional wellbeing.
Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Assist teachers with lesson delivery and differentiated learning strategies.
Gain invaluable experience relevant to educational psychology, SEN, or teaching.
Requirements
A recent Psychology graduate (or related subject).
Passion for supporting young people with additional or complex needs.
Empathetic, patient, and emotionally resilient.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
