Location: Stoke, Stone and Stafford Position: SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistant Start Date: September 2025 Pay: From £90 per day Hours: Full-time, long-term Are you a recent Psychology graduate looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? Do you have a passion for supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs? Teaching Personnel are recruiting for Psychology graduates to work as SEN & SEMH Teaching Assistants in specialist schools across the Stoke, Stone and wider Staffordshire area, starting this September. These rewarding roles are ideal for graduates considering a career in education, psychology, social work, or youth support. What you’ll be doing: Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN and SEMH needs Assisting with personalised learning plans and emotional regulation strategies Helping students develop social skills and build emotional resilience Promoting an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff Taking part in training and professional development sessions What we’re looking for: A degree in Psychology or a related subject Excellent communication and relationship-building skills A calm, patient, and empathetic approach Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals (preferred but not essential) A genuine passion for supporting young people Enhanced child DBS (we can help you apply for this) To be eligible, you must: Have the right to work in the UK Provide two professional references covering the past two years Hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced child-only DBS on the Update Service If you're ready to start a rewarding role this September and make a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you.
