Job Description

Purchase Ledger Clerk - Permanent Opportunity Location: Oldbury Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week 08:30-16:30 or 09:00-17:00 (with a 30-minute lunch break) Are you a detail-focused, finance professional with some experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable? About the Role: Our client is a highly respected manufacturing organisation with a strong presence in their sector. They are looking to welcome a Purchase Ledger Clerk to their supportive and dynamic finance team. In this role, you'll play a key part in the smooth running of the accounts payable function - ensuring supplier invoices are processed accurately and efficiently. What you will be be doing: Processing a high volume of supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and correct coding Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes Obtaining invoice approvals in line with company policies Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies Preparing and processing BACS and cheque payment runs Maintaining accurate records of all purchase ledger transactions Supporting month-end close processes including accruals and reporting Liaising with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries Ensuring compliance with internal financial procedures Assisting with audits and providing required documentation What our client is looking For: Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role (desirable) A good level of education including GCSE Maths and English (Grade B or above) Finance-related qualifications are advantageous Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, SAP would be very advantageous Strong numerical accuracy and data entry skills Excellent communication skills both written and verbal The ability to work both independently and collaboratively A proactive and solution-focused mindset Why Join Our Client?  This is a permanent, stable opportunity within a forward-thinking organisation that values its people.
