Purchasing Manager | Shirebrook, Mansfield | £48,000 – £50,000 per annum | Full-time | 5 days on-site Are you an experienced procurement professional with a background in manufacturing or engineering? We’re seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead a dynamic procurement team and drive strategic sourcing initiatives at our site in Shirebrook. About the Role Reporting to the Group Supply Chain & Procurement Director, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the effective sourcing and expediting of all materials to support business operations. You’ll play a key role in managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost efficiencies across the supply chain. Key Responsibilities Lead the procurement of direct and indirect materials and services, with a focus on engineering/manufacturing categories.     Manage and mentor the on-site procurement team, aligning with group strategy.     Collaborate with internal stakeholders to source optimal products for projects.     Negotiate contracts and establish framework/service level agreements.     Build long-term supplier partnerships and improve performance.     Monitor material markets to support cost management and inflation control.     Implement cost-saving initiatives and report monthly progress.     Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve material issues.     Manage inventory, reduce obsolete stock, and establish safety stock levels.     Deliver KPIs focused on cost, cash, quality, and service.     Support ad hoc projects and business needs.   What We’re Looking For Proven procurement experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.     Strong negotiation skills with a track record of cost reduction.     Deep understanding of supply base cost drivers.     Experience managing strategic supplier relationships.     Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems.     Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.     Problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure.   Qualifications CIPS Level 4 (preferred).
