Job Description

Purchasing Manager (Kings Lynn, Norfolk)

Our client is looking to hire a strategic and driven Purchasing Manager to lead procurement across our global operations in King’s Lynn. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll take ownership of all purchasing activities, ensuring cost efficiency, supply continuity, and strong supplier partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  * Develop and deliver strategic sourcing initiatives aligned with cost-saving and ESG goals

  * Manage supplier relationships, including regular performance reviews in line with quality standards

  * Ensure supply chain resilience by mitigating risks such as long lead times and obsolescence

  * Lead and support a small international fulfilment team

  * Negotiate supplier contracts to secure best value and minimise stock risk

  * Produce monthly performance reports for purchasing and operations

About You

  * 5+ years’ purchasing experience, ideally in a manufacturing/engineering environment

  * Strong Excel and ERP/SOP system skills (e.g. EPICOR)

  * Proven leadership and team management ability

  * Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills

  * Highly analytical with strong attention to detail

Desirable

  * CIPS qualification

  * Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics

  * Knowledge of ISO/BSI standards (e.g. ISO 9001)
