Job Description
I’m recruiting on behalf of a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing business based near Norwich that is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead their procurement team.
This is a key leadership role within the organisation, responsible for overseeing all purchasing operations and supplier strategy to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and sustainable supply of materials. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to support business growth and contribute to long-term goals, including Net Zero ambitions.
Responsibilities include:
Leading and developing the purchasing team to ensure alignment with operational targets
Managing key supplier relationships, including performance reviews and contract negotiations
Collaborating with internal teams to drive continuous improvement and cost-efficiency
Implementing strategic sourcing initiatives and managing procurement risk
Monitoring inventory, procurement KPIs, and ensuring on-time delivery of goods
Supporting innovation and sustainability through supplier collaboration and responsible sourcingThe ideal candidate will have:
Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement leadership role within a manufacturing environment
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Experience working with ERP systems
CIPS Level 4 or equivalent qualification (or working towards)
A proactive, commercially minded approach with the ability to manage both strategic and day-to-day responsibilities
