Purchasing Manager - South Yorkshire
We're excited to be partnering with a well-established UK manufacturer, working with advanced technology to support leading OEMs across sectors like defence, construction, rail, and much more.
With in-house expertise spanning laser cutting, CNC machining, fabrication, welding, and full assembly, they deliver complex projects from start to finish and they're now looking for a Purchasing Manager to join their team. If you have proven experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing or engineering environment - we would love to hear from you!
In this role, you'll:
Oversee supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and improve purchasing processes.
Forecast procurement needs in line with market trends.
Lead and develop a small purchasing team, driving both performance and personal growth.
Deliver cost reductions and track performance against clear KPIs.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure procurement aligns with operational requirements.
Work closely with Finance to ensure accuracy in payments and reporting.What we're looking for:
Proven experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Team management experience with a track record of developing others.
Knowledge of supply chain and lean principles.
Relevant qualifications (CIPS or degree) or equivalent practical expertise.What's on offer:
