Python Developer - Financial Risk Systems
Dublin, Ireland
2-3 days on site
12 month contract
We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer with hands-on experience in Rates, Bonds, Swaps, or other pricing/trading systems to join our financial risk team on a contract basis.
You'll work on data-intensive applications, high-performance backend systems, and critical financial platforms, collaborating with quants, data scientists, and engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain Python-based backend systems for pricing, risk, and trading platforms
Build APIs and data pipelines for real-time and batch processing of market and financial data
Collaborate with quants, traders, and analysts to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions
Participate in system design and architecture, ensuring scalability and security
Troubleshoot and optimize production systems, focusing on Rates, Bonds, Swaps, and derivatives workflows
Required Skills & Experience:
4+ years of professional Python development experience
Strong knowledge of Rates, Bonds, Swaps, or related pricing/trading systems
Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB)
Proficiency in data processing using pandas, NumPy, and working with APIs
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Preferred:
Quantitative analysis, financial modeling, or experience with trading systems
Familiarity with distributed systems and event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication; able to convey technical solutions to business stakeholders
Self-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
