QA Coordinator – Food Manufacturing
* Location: Wetherby (LS22)
* Salary: £32K
* Contract: Full-time, Permanent
* Shift Pattern: Panama Days 6am-6pm
* Reporting to: Assistant Head of Technical - 1 direct report
Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated QA Coordinator to support production shifts in upholding the highest food safety and quality standards. This role is pivotal in coaching operational teams, ensuring compliance with internal standards and customer requirements, and championing a positive food safety culture across the site.
Key Responsibilities:

Act as the primary food safety, quality, and integrity contact during assigned shifts.

Provide guidance to production teams to ensure decisions are aligned with technical standards.
*
Proactively manage food safety and quality testing schedules, including internal audits and environmental monitoring.
*
Ensure documentation and production records are completed accurately, reviewed, and filed appropriately.
*
Conduct traceability and mass balance exercises as required.
*
Raise and follow up on non-conformances, working collaboratively with relevant departments.
*
Oversee the Positive Release system to ensure product compliance before dispatch.
*
Deliver training to colleagues in line with the technical training plan.
*
Ensure product sampling is completed as per the schedule and results are logged on internal systems.

Maintain an up-to-date Personal Development Plan (PDP).

Sound understanding of customer codes of practice (e.g., allergens, labelling, foreign body detection).
*
Competence in using root cause analysis tools and problem-solving techniques.
*
Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels.
*
Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
*
Minimum 2 years’ experience in QA within food manufacturing, ideally covering both private label and branded products.
*
Proficient in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and food quality standards.
*
Level 3 HACCP certification
*
Level 3 Food Safety qualification
*
Internal Auditor qualification
*
Recognised qualifications in allergens and microbiology
