Job Description

This QA Manager Job Isn’t for Everyone. If you’re looking for a cosy compliance role where you just nod through audits and sign off a few specs, this ain’t it. This one’s for the operator. The fixer. The one who’s had enough of being ignored when they flag issues, and wants to actually run the show when it comes to Quality. You’ll be stepping into a fast-paced food manufacturing environment — one where standards matter, systems need sharpening, and the QA team needs someone to lead from the front, not from behind a desk. You’ll own: A QA team that needs developing, coaching, and occasionally a bit of tough love The co-management of HACCP — and we mean actually managing it, not just updating a dusty folder Internal audits, GMP, CLAS, lab sampling, and all the other good stuff that keeps the wheels on Complaint investigations that go past the surface – root cause, preventative actions, the full works Collaboration with production and engineering to make sure spec isn’t just a suggestion It’s a big role. You’ll be right in the thick of it analysing data, fixing issues, improving systems, keeping auditors happy, and raising standards. You’ll need to be confident, credible, and not allergic to spreadsheets or uncomfortable conversations. You’ll need: A science or food science degree Food industry experience, ideally from the lab upwards Solid knowledge of BRC, HACCP (Level 4 ideally), and retailer codes of practice The ability to lead people, manage issues, and influence across departments What’s in it for you? The chance to make real impact. To take ownership. To build something better, not just maintain the status quo. And you’ll be doing it in a business that genuinely values Quality – not just when the auditor’s coming. Interested? Hit apply or just reach out for a chat. No pressure. No fluff. Just a proper role for a proper QA professional
