Location: Poole, Dorset
Rate: £350–£400 per day
Contract Length: Approx. 6 months (with potential for extension)
Start: ASAP
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join a high-profile high-rise residential apartment project in Poole. This is a site-based role with around 6 months remaining on the project, offering a competitive day rate and the opportunity to work on a landmark development in the area.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage and administer all commercial aspects of the project on site
*
Oversee subcontractor procurement, management, and payments
*
Prepare and manage interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
*
Work closely with the site and project management team to ensure commercial alignment with delivery
*
Ensure cost control and reporting are maintained accurately and timely
*
Assist with monthly cost/value reconciliations and reporting to senior commercial team
*
Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders as required
Requirements:
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large-scale residential or high-rise projects
*
Strong understanding of construction contracts (JCT or similar)
*
Excellent commercial awareness and strong analytical skills
*
Ability to work independently and manage own workload effectively
*
Good communication and negotiation skills
*
Strong IT skills including Excel and commercial management software
Desirable:
*
Chartered or working towards MRICS (not essential)
*
Previous experience with residential high-rise developments
*
Local knowledge of the Dorset area
