Job Title: QTS SEN Tutor Core Subjects (St Helens)
Location: St Helens
Pay Rate: GBP30 per hour (starting rate)
Job Type: Temporary | Part-Time | 20 hours per week
We are seeking a QTS SEN Tutor to join our team in St Helens. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and those working below expected academic levels. If you are a qualified teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and helping learners overcome barriers, this role could be ideal.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-to-one GCSE Maths and English tuition tailored to individual SEN learning needs.
Adapt lesson delivery to support emotional regulation, engagement, and different learning styles.
Help students develop subject knowledge, independent study skills, and exam confidence.
Build strong, trusting relationships to create a consistent and supportive learning environment.
Monitor progress and provide clear feedback to parents/carers and relevant professionals when required.
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring Maths or English.
Experience working with SEN learners in a one-to-one or small group setting.
Right to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
Desirable Qualifications:
PGCE in Secondary Education.
Experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
