Salary: GBP25 - GBP30 per hour

About the Role
Prospero Teaching is seeking Qualified Teachers (QTS) to provide 1:1 or small group tuition for pupils who are unable to attend mainstream education. These pupils may have SEND, SEMH, be permanently excluded, and require a flexible, tailored approach to help re-engage with learning and work toward reintegration into school.
As a QTS Tutor, you will deliver structured, engaging, and personalised lessons that focus on bridging learning gaps, building confidence, and supporting the wider needs of each young person.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver high-quality, tailored lessons in core subjects (e.g., English, Maths, Science)
· Support pupils with a wide range of needs, including SEND and SEMH
· Plan, adapt and assess lessons according to individual learning plans
· Encourage student engagement and build positive, trusting relationships
· Provide weekly written feedback on progress to Prosperos CES Team
· Maintain clear and professional communication with families and other professionals involved in the pupils care and education
· Work independently in home or community settings, ensuring safety and safeguarding procedures are followed
Requirements
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
· Experience teaching in UK schools (mainstream or SEN)
· Strong behaviour management and an empathetic approach
· Ability to differentiate teaching to suit individual learning styles and needs
· Experience with EHCPs, SEND, SEMH or alternative provision is highly desirable
· Valid, enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
· Two professional, child-related references
· Access to own transport is an advantage (some travel may be required)
