Role Overview They are seeking a fully qualified accountant with portfolio management experience to join their Edinburgh team as an Accountant / Client Advisory Specialist. This role combines technical accounting expertise with strategic financial advisory. You will be responsible for preparing full accounts, managing client relationships, and providing insights that help clients grow their businesses and make informed financial decisions. Key Responsibilities * Prepare and review full statutory accounts for a portfolio of clients across various industries. * Advise clients on accounting, tax, and financial matters, leveraging both accounting and investment experience. * Analyse client financials to identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, and strategic investment. * Assist in client presentations and advisory meetings, demonstrating the value of the firm’s services. * Collaborate with partners and business development teams to support client onboarding and retention. * Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. * Mentor junior team members, sharing expertise in both accounting and portfolio management. * Contribute to practice growth by identifying advisory opportunities within your client portfolio. Candidate Requirements * Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). * Prior experience in portfolio management, investment advisory, or fund accounting. * Proven ability to prepare full statutory accounts. * Strong understanding of financial analysis, reporting, and strategic advisory. * Excellent client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information clearly. * Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for clients. * Ability to work independently while collaborating with partners and wider teams.
