Job Summary

Trafford Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Agency Social Worker who is also an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join its Emergency Duty Team (EDT). This pivotal role involves providing urgent social work support outside of standard office hours across both Adult and Children’s Services within the Trafford borough.
You will work on an initial hybrid model, combining both office and home-based working, with flexibility to suit your needs. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting difference in a supportive and progressive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver responsive and effective out-of-hours social work services across Trafford.
Manage urgent cases in Adult Social Care, Children’s Services, and Mental Health.
Act as an AMHP, utilising warranted powers with appropriate authorisation.
Respond promptly to crisis situations involving children at risk, vulnerable families, or individuals in mental health emergencies.
Support and mentor other team members using your professional expertise.
Maintain accurate, timely case records and documentation in accordance with legislative requirements.
Keep up to date with policies, procedures, and legislation relevant to your practice areas.
