Job Description

Join our friendly, home-based childcare setting! We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and reliable Childminding Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside the registered childminder to deliver outstanding care and support children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Key Responsibilities * Support the registered childminder in providing high-quality childcare for children from birth to school age. * Promote children’s learning and development through engaging, play-based activities in line with the EYFS. * Build positive, caring relationships with children and their families. * Ensure the safety, wellbeing and welfare of every child at all times. * Follow all safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and behaviour management policies and procedures. * Observe children’s interests and achievements and contribute to learning and development records where appropriate. * Support children’s personal care, including toileting, handwashing and nappy changing where required. * Prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks while following food hygiene practices. * Help maintain a clean, organised and stimulating learning environment. * Accompany children on local outings and walks, following risk assessments and safety procedures. * Work professionally as part of a small team and communicate effectively with parents and carers. Person Specification Essential * Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare. * Previous experience working with children in an early years or childcare setting. * A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development. * Caring, patient, reliable and enthusiastic. * Good communication and interpersonal skills. * Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities. * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. * Right to work in the UK. Desirable Paediatric First Aid qualification. Food Hygiene Certificate. Experience working within the EYFS. Experience in a childminding or home-based childcare setting.
