Occupational Therapist - Twickenham, Richmond upon Thames
Part Time Position (3 Days/Week, Term Time Only) | ASAP
Location: Twickenham, Richmond upon Thames
Salary: Up to Band 6 (NHS Scale), dependent on experience. Pro-rated for 3 days per week.
We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and adaptable Occupational Therapist to join a well-regarded SEN Trust on a part-time basis, working three days a week across an established primary setting and a small, brand new campus offering a nurturing, intimate three-class setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a close-knit, high-quality provision where every pupil is well known and every contribution counts.
This is a rewarding position for an OT who wants a meaningful part-time caseload, real impact, and the opportunity to work across two distinct settings - a well-established primary site and a small, specialist new campus, with a role where their skills are genuinely valued.
About the Role:
Working three days a week across both sites, you will provide high-quality occupational therapy support to pupils with a range of physical, sensory and developmental needs, adapting your approach across two very different site environments, including a small and highly personalised setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging sensory and motor skills sessions across both sites
- Carry out detailed assessments of pupils' sensory, physical and functional needs
- Write clear, accurate, and pupil-centred reports to inform EHCP reviews, progress tracking and wider MDT planning
- Deliver specialist 1:1 interventions where appropriate, tailored to individual pupil profiles and targets
- Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, teaching assistants and external professionals
- Provide guidance and training to school staff to embed sensory and motor strategies across the curriculum
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with professional and school standards
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school-specific policies at all times
About You:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration (essential)
- Experience working with children and young people with SEND, including complex physical and sensory needs
- Confident in delivering both group/whole-class sessions and specialist 1:1 interventions
- Strong assessment and report writing skills
- Experience working within an educational or SEN setting (desirable)
- Collaborative, patient and pupil-focused approach
- Comfortable working flexibly across two sites, including a small-class specialist setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all pupils
