Job Description
Are you a dedicated and experienced Social Worker with a passion for supporting children and families through the adoption journey?
We are currently recruiting for a part-time locum Social Worker to join a Recruitment & Assessment Adoption Team in the Wigan area. This is a rewarding opportunity to help shape the lives of children and provide vital support to prospective adopters.
Hours: 29 hours, 4 days per week

Responsibilities:
Actively recruit and assess prospective adopters (Stage One & Two)
Deliver pre- and post-approval training to adopters
Support and supervise adopters in meeting the needs of looked-after children
Complete comprehensive assessments, including risk and need
Provide services that promote preventative childcare and safeguard children
Undertake child protection duties and attend court as required
Participate in duty rota as designated by local management
Work collaboratively with external agencies involved in the adoption processTo be considered for the role, ideally you will have:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar setting
Qualified Social Worker (BSc or equivalent)
Registered with Social Work England
Strong experience in adopter recruitment, training, and support
Confident working independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with multi-agency working within adoption services
