Qualified Social Worker - Family Safeguarding Team (CAST)
📍 Location: Basingstoke
💰 Rate: Up to £42ph
📅 Contract Type: Locum, Full-Time

🔍 About the Role
You'll be working in one of four CAST teams, each comprising:
7 x Qualified Social Workers
1 x Assistant Team Manager
1 x Team Manager
2 x Children and Families Support WorkersYou'll manage a caseload of approximately 25 families, supported by dedicated admin staff and personal assistants to help with day-to-day tasks and time management.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of risk and need within legal and statutory frameworks
Collaborate with other agencies and undertake joint assessments
Arrange and manage care packages and services
Take protective action for vulnerable individuals
Maintain accurate case records and produce high-quality reports
Monitor and review care plans to ensure effectiveness
Provide guidance on benefits, fees, and allowances
✅ What We're Looking For
Degree in Social Work (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent)
HCPC registration
Strong communication and report-writing skills
Experience working with children and families
Knowledge of child protection legislation and substitute care
Ability to assess risk, manage caseloads, and work under pressure
Commitment to equality, dignity, and empowerment
Full driving license and ability to travel as required
