Empowering Learning are seeking a dedicated Qualified Teaching Assistant to support students within a thriving secondary school in the Greater Manchester area. This role is ideal for someone with strong classroom experience and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
As a Qualified Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers to support students across KS3 and KS4, providing tailored academic and pastoral support. You'll play a key role in helping pupils stay engaged, focused, and confident in their learning.
Key Responsibilities
Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across the secondary curriculum
Work 1:1 and in small groups to raise attainment and build confidence
Provide targeted intervention and support for students with additional needs
Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive learning habits
Prepare and organise learning materials to aid classroom delivery
Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure student progress
Requirements
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
Proven experience working within a secondary school setting
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
Ability to support students across a range of subjects and abilities
A valid enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
