Hours: 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts across a 7-day rota, with varied working hours)
Our client is a dedicated provider of high-quality residential care for children and young people, currently operating two homes – one supporting individuals with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and one supporting those with Learning Disabilities (LD). They are seeking a passionate and experienced Quality and Development Manager to ensure excellence across their services.
The Role
As the Quality and Development Manager, you will be at the heart of ensuring that both homes consistently meet and exceed the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards. You will work closely with Registered Managers, support operational delivery, and champion continuous improvement to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance and readiness for Ofsted inspections.
* Supporting the daily operations of the homes, ensuring the highest standards of care.
* Assisting with recruitment, supervision, and professional development of staff teams.
* Stepping in to manage homes in the absence of the Registered Manager.
* Contributing to the creation of therapeutic, nurturing, and supportive home environments.
* Assisting with rota management, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
* Leading and supporting safeguarding initiatives for both children and staff.
* Building positive relationships with local authorities, schools, health services, and other stakeholders.
* Driving quality improvements, staff training, and professional development.
* Working alongside therapeutic professionals to ensure appropriate interventions and support.
* Handling HR matters including investigations and performance management where needed.
* Responding flexibly to operational needs, including varied shifts or occasional sleep-ins.
* Supporting care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding processes.
* Participating in the on-call rota.
