Quality Assurance
Goole DN14 - £28-30k (14 month Maternity Cover), days only, 25 days holidays plus stats
40 hrs: Mon - Fri 9am to 5pm (some flexibility with start and finish times)
Quality assurance technician is a Monday to Friday job with duties that are vital to ensure quality is maintained in a highly regulated, food manufacturing environment.
The duties of the quality assurance technician include:
Working with the QA team to ensure sampling schedules are maintained, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation relating to product safety and legality and supporting the maintenance of the company’s accreditation results.
Conducting internal audits to schedule, highlighting any non-conformances, investigating, and following up on corrective actions to ensure satisfactory closure e.g. GMP audits, fabrication & glass & hard plastic audits.
Mixing & controlling solutions for testing, coordinating submission of samples to third party laboratories or customers and generating Certificates of Analysis for customers.
Shelf-life testing of raw materials and finished products as well as some laboratory testing of oils for the food and cosmetic industries using both traditional chemistry techniques e.g. titration and analytical equipment, maintaining the upkeep of the laboratory, consumables, and the equipment.
Requirements of the quality assurance technician:
Previous experience working in Quality Assurance in a Manufacturing environment, ideally food based.
Experience of working to an accredited quality standard such as BRCGS, ISO9001, or ISO22000
Ideally you will have Level 2 HACCP, Level 2 Food Hygiene, and internal auditing.
Good IT skills with particular focus on Microsoft Excel and Word.
Knowledge of factory processes, HACCP and quality systems, auditing processes, legal requirements, traceability systems, and audit trails.
Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities and co-ordinate workload to ensure all customers are supported and serviced in accordance with KPI requirements.
