Quality Assurance Manager
Are you passionate about food quality? We're looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead the quality team and play a key role in ensuring their products consistently meet the highest food safety, legal and customer standards.
Working closely with Technical, Procurement and Production teams, you'll drive quality performance across the site, lead a talented QA team and champion a culture of continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing
Leading all site Quality Assurance activities, ensuring products consistently meet food safety, legal, customer and internal quality standards.
Working closely with the Quality and Procurement teams to monitor product quality through robust systems, processes and KPI reporting.
Partnering with Team Leaders and Quality Controllers to identify quality issues, improve production processes and maintain product specifications.
Analysing customer complaints, depot warnings, rejections and feedback, implementing effective corrective and preventative actions to reduce recurring issues.
Managing, coaching and developing the Quality team, including recruitment, training, performance management, holiday planning and rota management.
Creating a positive, high-performing team culture focused on quality, accountability and continuous improvement.
Producing season-end reviews and customer quality reports, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
Supporting the development and monitoring of Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs) and quality performance targets.
Leading quality improvement projects to enhance systems, processes and ways of working.
Supporting customer visits and maintaining strong relationships with customer depots.
Chairing quarterly Quality Plan meetings, ensuring actions are completed and improvements delivered.
Working alongside the Technical team to complete supplier end-of-season scorecards and help drive supplier performance improvements.
Visiting UK third-party packing sites when required during the June to August period.What we're looking for
Experience in a Quality Assurance, Quality or Technical Management role within the food produce industry is a must have.
Fresh produce experience is highly desirable, particularly with fresh fruit
Strong leadership skills with experience managing, coaching and developing teams.
A solid understanding of HACCP, food safety legislation and quality management systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and implement effective solutions.
Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across Technical, Production, Procurement and customer teams.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and internal quality management systems.
A proactive approach with a passion for driving continuous improvement and delivering high standards.Why join us?
